It has been few weeks since we launched iFlyChat Plugin for Joomla 2.5. We are working with some pilot customers to better understand the needs of our clients and perfect the Joomla plugin. Simultaneously, we are getting lot of requests to make it available for Joomla 3.3. We planned to release the chat plugin for Joomla 3.3 next month, but seeing the demand we decided to prepone it. We are glad to announce that chat plugin for Joomla 3.3 is available now.
Now, it is easier to embed chat room into a WordPress post or page.
We have introduced a new shortcode to make this easy!
Just add the following shortcode to your WordPress page and you are good to go:
[iflychat_embed id="c-0" hide_user_list="yes" hide_popup_chat="no" height="550px"]
In our continuous effort to try and empower as many websites as possible with iFlyChat, we have taken a step forward to support websites other than those which run on PHP. We are happy to introduce Perl Library of iFlyChat which will let websites with Perl backend to integrate iFlyChat.
This Perl client is developed by JT Smith of thegamecrafters.com. Three cheers to him :)
Based on popular customer demand, we are out with beta version of our browser based mobile application. It is currently available for Drupal 7 and WordPress.
This stand alone mobile app allows you to view our chat in full screen when you are using a device with limited screen area like mobile or tablet. Below is a screenshot of the user list within our web-based mobile app:
We received numerous customer requests to develop chat plugin for Oxwall this year. The wait is over now! We are glad to annouce today that we are ready with our iFlyChat Plugin for Oxwall.
Like our modules/plugins for Drupal, WordPress, Joomla and PHPFox, this plugin would provide integration to Oxwall websites with our cloud based chat system.
It has been a long wait! Today, we are very pleased to announce that finally we are ready with Joomla 2.5 Plugin of iFlyChat. Our module for Drupal called DrupalChat and plugin for Wordpress have been here for quite long time now and are loved by customers around the globe. You may ask, why such delay for Joomla then? The reason is that we were quite busy in developing new features in chat and making backend stable.
We have been testing file attachment feature for quite some time now. Today, we are glad to annouce that this feature is out of beta testing and now available to our clients. Some of our customers are pretty excited to use this feature as it takes the interaction among users to the next level. Now, users can share photos, documents or any other similar files with others. Users can share file in one-to-one chat, group chat as well as in public rooms. And, it is available both for popup chat and embedded chat. Isn't that awesome?
In our continued effort to improve chat user interface and enhance user experience, we have increased the size of our chat window. Many customers have suggested us to increase it's default size. We tested this further and observed that we can increase it's size by 10% without comprising on the fact that it may cover too much site content area.
Here is how new chat window would look:
